Late last year we decided (probably over a few drinks) that it would be a good idea that we should dig up an old car and covert in into a deluxe buffet - on wheels! A suitable rusty racer was found - a 1963 Datsun ute. So early one Sunday morning our graphic designer drove out to Polpolkin in regional NSW to drag it out of an old shed at a vineyard, swap her for a case of coldies and tow her back to our base in Sydney.
Upon her return to meet the rest of her new family at Star Grazers she was given the name Lucy because she was such a cute retro dame! She hadn't been on the road in some time and needed some TLC, but we know a diamond in the rough when we see one!
After many cups of coffee along with grinding, sanding, spraying, buffing and a whole heap of trips to Super Cheap Auto she was starting to look much happier! We gave her a new varnished timber tray, custom airbrushed graphics, new red interior, shag carpet... and some fluffy dice!
Thanks to all the team who had a hand in getting Lucy to be be the 'siiiiiickest' piece of catering equipment in our fleet. Keep an eye out for her around town, coming to a backstage area near you soon! Below are some shots of Lucy doing her thing at Soundwave 2012.
